Frequently Asked Questions When do practices begin? Monday July 21st.
How many days per week will practices be held? Two. Days to be determined based on Jr. Coach availability.
Can I cheer with my friends? Requests are welcome, but not guaranteed. Typically all 7th and 8th graders will cheer together.
Will we compete? Yes, in at least one, possibly two competitions. Competitions are in late October and early November.
Who will our coaches be? The HHS Cheerleaders are our main source for Jr. Coaches.
When are games? All squads will cheer on Saturday OR Sunday every weekend from the end of August until mid-November.
Where are games? Home games will be played on our home field located at Marlowe Middle School. Away games may be at the home fields of any other town in our league. For a complete listing of these towns, visit the TCYFL website at www.tcyfl.net.
Do we need special shoes? Yes! You will be required to purchase a pair of shoes prior to the start of the season, details forthcoming. Competition squads may be required to purchase a second pair of shoes for competition wear only.
When will we get our game schedule? We are a part of the TCYFL. You may visit their website at www.tcyfl.net. As field ability is challenging the schedule is complicated. Generally, we begin to get schedules one week at a time approximately ONE week prior to the start of the season. We then post the schedules on our website at www.hyfca.org where you can use the CHEER link to find your game. Additionally, your team mom will always keep you informed of your game schedule. Schedules will continue to be released weekly until mid season at which point we may begin to get more than one week at a time. You must be prepared for last minute weekend schedule changes.
What does the registration fee include? Uniform rental. You will be given spankies, bodysuits, socks, and a hair bow. $25 worth of raffle tickets for our annual fundraiser will be given to you, you may resell or keep. A $25 volunteer fee is assessed and is refundable if you provided assistance throughout the season.
